Strata Architects was founded in 2012 by Kimberly Brown and Nizam Kizilsencer. We joined forces to create a 21st century architecture firm based on our deep experience with bespoke design and technical building skills. Having worked at world-renowned architecture firms on a wide range of building types – from urban office towers to university art galleries – we have developed a methodology that is both systematic and flexible: we integrate architecture, engineering and cutting-edge research with our clients’ needs and ambitions.
We pride ourselves on delivering professional architectural services that are attuned to each project’s unique site, program and design challenge. From site analysis to master planning and programming, we maximize our clients’ opportunities through efficient planning and aspirational design. The final result is always an expression of the project’s primary design driver – be it to convey an institutional mission, solve a complex building challenge, or create an iconic form. Strata does not have a “look”. Our projects do.
We believe the impact of small things can be profound. By maintaining a “lean and mean” firm comprised of individuals with exceptional qualifications, we are able to offer our clients the personal attention of a boutique practice, backed up by technical building expertise. We have developed relationships with talented professionals around the world, providing us with the flexibility to take on projects large and small in New York City and across the globe.
